Through two decades working with fathers, AÇEV has learned the value in involving as many stakeholders as possible. In the past, the organization focused primarily on public institutions, NGOs, and universities – with businesses only approached for funding. Today, AÇEV aims to better inform the private sector about changes they can make in their workplace and business practices to better promote involved fatherhood. The session also concerned efforts to engage the private sector in combating domestic violence in the corporate world.
AÇEV and UNFPA hosted a side event at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) on March 19 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The event focused on private sector involvement on promoting gender equality at workplace. AÇEV’s session covered its recent efforts to engage the private sector in Turkey to promote gender equality and involved fatherhood, in collaboration with UNFPA-Turkey.
